Okay so I got on facebook the other day and a friend of mine had posted some pictures she took of the Snowstorm 2010. About halfway through i saw this picture she took of a Cardinal in the snow covered trees and i got inspired. First of all the photo made me think of my Grandma Scherder. She absolutely loved birds. I miss her everyday and when i saw that picture it truly brought a smile to my face. So thank you Melissa for taking this beautiful photo and all the other ones you took that put a smile on my face even after being stuck in my house for over a week.

Valentine's

Yesterday the man in brown came to my house with a large box full of Stampin' Up. Last night I stayed up way past my bed time making Valentines. I made little baggies for the girls to take to school if they ever go back to school. (if you haven't heard we here in NOVA have been snowed in for almost a week) I also made a special Valentine for the love of my life.

This is the Valentine for the boys. I used red for the boys and the goodies inside are sports themed.

This is the Valentine for the girls. I used pixie pink and it is filled with heart themed things.

So for Christmas my husband got me this beautiful ring. It didn't fit when it came so i had to wait until last week to actually get to start wearing it but it came in a little box with a pretty blue bow on it. I loved the bow so much i couldn't throw it away and my husbands wonderful present became the isperation for his valentine.

This is the valentine I made Denno and the bow is the bow that my ring was wrapped in. I know it isn't traditional valentine colors but i think it is perfect for my man.

My friend, Lori, from college had her 1st baby recently and I made her a brag book for her new son. I was so nervous making it because I am still pretty new at scrapbooking and this was my first ever scrapbook for a boy. I showed it to Denno a million times to make sure it wasn't turning out too girly. He told me know but I also don't know that he would have told me the truth about it.

This is the bracelet I made for Dennis' Aunt Tina's birthday. Her kids wanted to give her something special so they asked me to make her a bracelet. It has all their birthstones in it and it is made with gold & silver

I made two of this bracelet one for my Best Friend Alisa and one for myself so we could have matching ones. It is our favorite color (pink) and our birthstone color (green).

This is the clasp on Alisa and I's bracelet. I like it because it has our birthstone in it.

Okay so I have been without my computer for 3 weeks now. I am going crazy but Denno brouht me home a laptop from work to use until I get my computer back. I fnally found the cord to plug my camera into this computer (I left my disk in my computer) so I can now upload some pictures. Denno, the girls, my mom, my Best friend Alisa, her daughter Julia and myself spent the weekend in Spring City, TN at my Grandfather's lake house. It has been more than seven years since Denno and I have been there and I don't know what took us so long to go back. We by far had the best weekend ever. The girls loved being on the lake swimming in the water, fishing, & going out on the boats. We ate the best food ever and we even roasted marshmallows at the camp fire and made s’ mores. One night we made homemade ice cream. I think this is going to become our vacation every year. Alisa and Julia seemed to have a great time also and they already talking about the next time we go. It was so fun hanging out with my grandpa and his wife Judy. It was an 8 hour drive which my mom drove but the girls were so good in the car it didn't even seem like that long. I can't wait to go back! Anybody want to go with us?

This week I have finally gotten some cards made. I hope you like them.

I made this card to send to my Grandpa Scherder.

My Aunt Rose had surgery yesterday to hopefully remove the breast cancer that has returned. I made this card to send to her.

Denno's Grandma got a volunteer position at the library and I made this card to congratulate her. This card is using two of the new in-colors Soft Suede, and Bermuda Bay.

I made this card for my mom. Her birthday is next week. I really like it even though my ribbon ruffle is a little crooked. I hope she doesn't look at my blog before her birthday. :)

Denno's uncle John's birthday is tomorrow and this is the card I made him.

Okay so today the UPS man stopped at my house with a wonderful package full of new stamps from the new Stampin' UP catalog that doesn't come out until July. But as a demonstrator I got to preorder all the new in colors (which I love) a few new stamp sets, and new home decor. I love being a Stampin' UP demonstrator.

This card is using a new punch, a new stamp set, new DSP, the new in colors, and new ribbon.

Kayla and I went today to pick out our puppy. There were three girls to pick from and we picked puppy #6. I was just drawn to her. She has such a laid back personality but she like to play. She loved to cuddle.

I got another update today on the puppies. It seems that all is well and the the little babies are doing well. I can't wait to go meet my new baby in about two more weeks. Here are some new pictures.

Okay first of all if no one hears from in a few days it is because my husband killed me for posting all these pictures of him on my blog. But back to the point. Today my wonderful husband turned 29. I have been working all day today to make sure he has a special birthday tonight when he comes home. I am grateful for this day b/c if he had not been born I would not have the most wonderful husband in the world and my girls wouldn’t have such a great dad. I hope Denno has had a great day (well as good as possible since he has been at work all day) and I can’t wait to see him tonight and celebrate him. We are getting a black pug puppy in July. We have put a deposit down on a female and I recieved an email and pictures of the litter of puppies today. One of those sweet little babies will be ours. We will get to go pick her in about 3 more weeks. The puppies were born last weekend so they are almost a week old now. Take a look at the pictures Mary sent me.

Okay so my brother and my friend Skyeler came over tonight and My brother was sitting on the couch and our dog Regis climbed up next to him and the next thing we knew they were alseep on the couch.

In memory of Puss-Puss

March 1994 - April 2009

Today started out pretty horrible with me having to put my cat that I have had for 15 years to sleep. She lost a bunch of weight so we took her to the vet and it turned out she had cancer. So this morning around 10:00 we had her put down.

It is always hard to let an animal go as I am sure many of you know. I got Puss- Puss when I was in eighth grade. I was away at boarding school when my parents moved to Northern VA. My cat Leo ran away as soon as they let him out of his carrier in VA and I called everyday for the last two weeks of school to see if he had come home. He hadn’t. So two of my friends went to a place where they saw free kittens and go me a kitten. When mom and dad came to pick it up they had found my cat Leo but they let me Keep my little kitten that I named Tiffany.

My mom decided that Tiffany was not a good cat name and started calling her Puss- Puss. I have always hated that name and it is so embarrassing. My mom used to stand on the front porch yelling for Puss. One time when my brother was in high school he had a bunch of his guy friends over to party. A few of them spent the night and the next morning my mom came down and asked the boys “Hey boys did any of you see Puss last night?” Of course mom was asking about the cat but the boys were totally shocked.

Puss-Puss has been with me through a lot. She was the first cat I got that was mine. She was always waiting for me to come home from college. When I got my first apartment and was living all alone she was my companion. She kept me company and was there to welcome me when I got home from work. When Denno and I got married she hated Denno because he took her spot on the bed. After about 6 months she grew to love him because she figured out he would pet her all day long.

All the girls have loved her so much especially Hailey. Hailey loved to hold her and pet her. Puss-puss will be sorely missed. She was a great cat and I loved her very much. Today was a hard day but it was very nice to know I have such great friends. Thank you to all of my friends for their kind words it has truly helped me through today.

This is the set I made my cousin Emily for her 30th birthday.

I made these matching mother daughter bracelets for my friend Jennifer who had a baby girl last month. She has three little boys and had her first little girl so I thought it would be nice for them to have matching bracelets.

I made this bracelet for a friend who I went to college with who just had her 1st child and it was a baby girl.

This is the set my I made my friend Heather. She actually came over and picked out the colors she wanted.

This is the bracelet I made Maddy. Of course it had to have a frog charm on it.

My youngest daughter Hailey loves to wear necklaces. Every morning she has to put her necklace on when she gets out of bed. So I had a bunch of cheap beads around the house and Kayla & I used them to make Hailey a bunch of necklaces.

Remembering the Virginia Tech Tragedy

My family knew one of the families who were affected by the tragedy at Virginia Tech 2 years ago today. My brother played on a soccer team for years with Omar Samaha and my parents were friends with Joe and Mona Samaha. I only remember Reema as a young girl who use to play on the sidelines with her sister Randa at the soccer games. As a parent I can’t imagine what her parents have gone through and it saddens me that they have to go on without one of their wonderful children. This horrible tragedy could not have happened to a nicer family. Reema and her family will forever be in our hearts and our minds and so will all the other families affected by that horrible day two years ago.

My very wonderful cousin and great friend Emily Gale Chrisman is 30 years old today! I wish I could be in Springfield, IL today to celebrate with her because she is such and important part of my life and this is a big day for her. When we were little we were inseparable and best friends and worse enemies all at the same time. We fought like sisters but we were always there for each other. She has always been there for me and I am very lucky to have had someone like her in my life for my whole life. I love you Emily and I hope you have a very wonderful birthday.

So my friend Jennifer sent me a picture of one of these Easter baskets and I thought it was so cute. So when Denno came home tonight and asked me if I would mind making a card for the girl that works for him, Kate, I thought this little basket would be perfect. I filled it with some of her favorite candy and then I made a little matching 3x3 card. I am so happy with the way it turned out.

Monday is Denno’s cousin Samantha’s sweet 16th birthday. We celebrated with her and her family today and were very happy to get to celebrate this special birthday with her. Sami is Madelyn’s God mother and is a wonderful young woman. She is a good role model for our girls and Denno and I are very proud of her and feel lucky to have such a wonderful person in our lives. Hope Chest from Grandpa

My Grandpa Litteken made me something i will cherish for the rest of my life. He hand made me a hope chest. The inside is cedar and it so beautiful. I am so excited my mom brought it out to me today and I just love it. I love my grandpa so much and now i have something made by him that i will be able to have forever.

Okay so last night we had just finished giving all the girls a bath and were getting them all dressed. Hailey was finished and she walked off and then Kayla was finished so she followed after Hailey. She comes running back into her room and announces “Hailey is in the bath tub” I go rushing into the bathroom and this is what I find.

Congratulations to my dear friend Jennifer and her family on the birth of their little girl. Allison Marie was born yesterday (march 18th) at 12:38 p.m. She weighed 9lbs 3oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. Jennifer has 3 little boys and was so excited to welcome a baby girl into her family yesterday. I went to the hospital this morning to meet baby Allie and she is absolutely beautiful. She has the adorable Wiemann chubby cheeks, a head full of black hair, and perfect skin. It is a good thing they have those little alarms on the baby b/c she is so darn cute I would have loved to bring her home with me. I was so excited about getting to hold baby Allie that I forgot to take any pictures. Kayla was not happy with me about that. Anyway here is a picture of the card I made the Wiemanns.

Okay so 25 years ago today my world changed forever. I was 4 years old and I was the center of my parents and sister’s world and then March 17, 1984 it happened. My mom had a baby boy and all my attention gone. Not only was my attention gone but I did not grow 2 feet to be as tall as my 11 year old sister and my parents did not take my suggestion on naming my new little brother Michael Jackson. Instead since my new little brother was born on St. Patrick’s Day they named him Patrick Daniel Scherder. Although Patrick did take all my attention away and we did spend most of our child hood beating each other up (okay well me beating him up) I am very grateful for my wonderful brother. He is turned into a wonderful man who is a great brother and a wonderful uncle. Happy 25th Birthday Patrick! We love you so much. Enjoy the pictures down memory lane.

Scrapbooking & Hailey's New Habbit

In the past I have asked my very talented friend Jonnelle Buhl to make my scrapbooks because it terrifies me. If you take a look at Jonnelle's blog you will see why I have trusted her to do this. She is extremely talented person. But this week I have decided to take a stab at scrapbooking. I cheat a little by using the awesome Stampin' Up Simply Scrappin' kits which you can order from my website. Here is the first layout i have done. I think it turned out pretty good.

In the last couple of days Miss Hailey has decided she needs a pacifier. She is 13 months old and has never used one until about three days ago and now she is using one pretty regularly. When I take it away from her she looks everywhere for it but at night when I put her in her crib she hands it to me so she can suck on her blanket. Here is a picture of Hailey with her pacifier.

Wow it is hard to believe that Hailey Grace is 1 today. She is such a good baby and we love her so much. I just can't believe that a year ago today I was still pregnant and Denno was rubbing my belly begging Hailey to come so we could get the tax deduction. What a good little listner she was because she made it just in time.

Christmas Report Part I

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas at home with the girls. It was Hailey’s 1st Christmas and I think she really enjoyed it. She loved opening presents but I think she enjoyed ripping the paper more than the gifts inside. Here are some pictures of the girls this Christmas.

Oh Christmas Tree!

We got our Christmas tree today and although decorating was very interesting with three set of little hands wanting to help I think it turned out pretty nice. We listened to our favorite Christmas music and the girls danced. I think they really enjoyed the afternoon. Kayla was a good help handing mommy all the ornaments to put on the tree and she handed daddy the angel to put on top of the tree. Madelyn likes to walk around the tree and point out all the different ornaments especially her frog and turtle ornaments. Hailey I think likes to look at the lights on her first Christmas tree and of course she has already taken several ornaments off. Be sure to check back after Christmas to take a look at some of the handmade Christmas gifts that will go under this tree. I can’t post them now but I will after they are given to their recipients. My Wonderful Grandpa!

November 14th was my Grandpa Litteken’s (my mom’s dad) 75th Birthday. To celebrate my mom and 7 of her 8 siblings drove to Tennessee (about an 8 hour drive for each of them) and all drove up his driveway at the same time to surprise him. The best part is that none of them sent him a card or called so just as grandpa was starting to get a little peeved that no one seemed to remember his 75th birthday they showed up. My mom said my grandfather was very tickled and that they all had a great weekend in Tennessee. I wish I could have been there but none of Grandpa’s 26 grandchildren or 21 great grandchildren were invited. How rude! Well I guess that would have been quite a house full. My Grandpa is an awesome man and I miss him lots. Denno and I are hoping to take the girls to see him at his lake house sometime in early spring.

Any how I made grandpa a card and so did Kayla and Madelyn. We also sent him some pictures and a little gift that arrived somewhat late but I did manage to get it to him in the month of November so that’s a plus.

I really like the way this card turned out. Does anyone think it is to christmasy. I think i think that because i know the DSP is the Holiday paper.

I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally finished all my chritsmas cards. I have made 140 all togtether. 40 of them were for my parents to send out and the rest are mine to send out. I am pretty happy with most of them and i am relieved they are done and i don't have to worry anymore. My trip to Dallas, TX

I am back from my trip to Dallas, TX to visit my sister and brother in law. Just Hailey and I went on this trip and I have to say she was a perfect angel. She was so good on the plane that when we got off the plane everyone sitting around us was commenting on how great she was. A women actually walked past us as we were headed to the car and said “look that was the baby that was so good on the plane” I was so proud of her.

I had such a blast! I arrived on Thursday night around 7:30 and after picking up some Maggiano’s for dinner we headed to Kris and Dwaine’s house and just relaxed. Dwaine started spoiling Hailey right away by letting her play in his ravioli. I spoiled there dog Sampson right away by bringing him some squeak toys and treats.

On Friday my sister was able to work from home so we just hung out watching TV and we had my Favorite for lunch, Sonic. Since we don’t have them here Kris and Dwaine know that it is a must on my list of things to do when I come to Dallas. I had cheesy tots and chicken sandwich and of course a Rt. 44 Strawberry Limeade (cheers Jonnelle). When Dwaine got home from work we headed to a tex-mex restaurant called Matt’s. It was so yummy. I had the best enchiladas and queso. Hailey was so well behaved but how could she not when she had Dwaine holding her and Kris holding her bottle. Talk about spoiled.

Saturday morning Hailey and I got up and so Kris and Dwaine could sleep in we took their Great Dane Sampson on a long walk. The weather in Texas was so beautiful and Hailey and I both enjoyed our nice long walk with Sampson. After we got back and everyone was awake we headed to the Galleria to do a little shopping. My second request for my trip was to head to the Dallas Cowboys store to get my family some goodies. I of course got myself a few things also. It was so awesome being in Cowboys territory. We had lunch at Grand Lux Café. They had these things called double stuffed potato spring rolls. They were so good like mashed potatoes in a spring roll topped with cheese and bacon. We also checked out the American doll store. Next time we go back we will have to take Kayla and Maddy there they would love it. On Saturday night we went to a Cuban restaurant called Cuba Libre and we all had this meal called Pollo fried Pollo (chicken fried chicken). It was the most amazing fried chicken with Jalapeno gravy on it over mashed potatoes. I have never had anything like it.

Sunday was my day to head home to my Husband and girls. After having a sonic breakfast and another Rt. 44 Strawberry Limeade we watched a little football and then headed to the airport. I was excited to be coming home to my family but sad to be leaving my sister and brother in law. Hailey and I said good bye and headed to the airplane.

We got home around 7:30 and the girls and Denno were waiting for us when we came out of security. After lots of hugs we headed to mom and dads for some Sunday night chili and football. The Cowboys beat the Packers 27 -16 even though they played an ugly game.

Vintage Challenge

I am going to a Stampin’ Up team meeting this weekend and one of the contest for the weekend is: Vintage - Using the great styles from the past. Think 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, retro. Think about your grandmother's wall paper or your grandfather's tools, your Mom's prom dress, your Dad's first car. Let that inspire you. Bring a picture with your entry. This can be from a magazine too.
So what inspired me? My sister’s bathroom. Her house was built in the 70s I believe and I remembered that the last time I was there looking at the tiles in her bathroom and thinking I have a stamp set similar to this I should make a card and then this contest called. So you can imagine how crazy my brother in law thought I was when I called the other night and asked him if he could take pictures of the tiles in his bathroom. But being the wonderful guy that he is he did as I asked and my sister emailed me the pictures. So here is a picture of one of the tiles……

Halloween a little Early

I know you probably think that I have lost my mind and that it is too early to be making Halloween stuff. But every month Stampin’ Up has contest for demonstrators and this month one of the categories is 3-D items for Halloween.

I thought I would take this challenge as an opportunity to try and find a use for all of the plastic baby food containers. It just seemed like such a shame to throw all those away when I figured there had to be a use for them. I plan to fill this container with candy corn. What do you think?

What I've Been Up To

I have been spending some time at my desk this week and here are some of the projects i have been doing.

My friend's sister was collecting scrapbook pages from all of her closest friends and putting together a scrapbook for her for her birthday. This is my contribution.

My Brother in law's grandmother past away this past week and i made this card and......

My cousin's little girl is turning one this Saturday and this is the card I made for her.

My 6th Anniversary

Today was my 6 year wedding anniversary. My husband and I took our three year old to see Wall-E and went to the Monteray Bay Fish Grotto for dinner. We had a great time. We even watched our wedding video for the first time in probably 5 years. Anyway her is the card and gift i made for him.

I am so excited to report that Stampin' UP has announced that all new stamp sets in the Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog (including new hostess sets) will be die cut for your convenience!You will still be able to enjoy the flexibility of custom mounting your stamps, and with these die-cut sets, all you'll need to do is pop, peel, and place before you begin stamping.

Only the new stamps will be die cut; sets carried over from the last catalog and those on the dormant list will still require trimming. But, each new set will feature a die cut icon so you will have no problems identifying die-cut sets.

I am finally got down to my desk to make a couple of cards. I had a baby shower to go to yesterday so I made a card for that and another baby card to have on hand. The baby shower I went to is for my friend who is having a baby boy so the cards are boy themed.

GiGi (Denno’s mom) and Uncle NeNe (Denno’s brother) came over and brought my family dinner while I was at the baby shower. Then we had a slumber party with Uncle NeNe. Him and Denno stay up all night playing video games. You could tell it was the first time in at least a month Denno got to play his PS3 because he stayed up until 3:30 in the morning. Here are some pictures of the girls with GiGi and NeNe.

Welcome to my blog. I am a hobby Demonstrator who is trying to make the transition to a serious demonstrator. I hope this will be a good tool for my costumers to find out what I am up to and to take a look at my projects.

This is a box I made for Kayla to give to her ballet teacher as a thank you. If you would like to learn how to make this box please contact me to learn how.

I made these two cards for my two friends baby showers. One friend is having a baby girl and the other is having a baby boy. They are sisters and due a week apart.
